Sounds Fishy To Me!

Marbella luxury hotelsValentine's Day weekend 1997 Barb and I went to the Florida Keys to plan our upcoming wedding.Neither of us had ever been there, but thought it would be the perfect tropical paradise setting for a beach wedding.You see, we both love the ocean and the beach.

Portugal hotelsUnfortunately, for those of you have not been there, there are no beaches. OOPS! So, to make a long story shorter,we decided just to go fishing instead. GOOD IDEA!

We went to the docks at the marina in Islamorada and chartered a boat for the next morning. When we got up at 5:00the wind was blowing 25 knots. I almost went back to bed, but we decided to go eat breakfast and let the captainmake the call on the weather. GOOD IDEA!

Our boat, the Hot Shot, was the first one out of the marina at 6:30. We caught live ballyhoo for bait. When weactually started fishing about 9:30, our first catch was a black fin tuna. Next came two more tuna and a dolphin.Then we found what we were fishing for.

What we did next was unbelievable. We hooked 11 sailfish, landed 9 of them, and set the season record. We releasedthem all, for another day. The one pictured above was the first one landed. That's me holding the tail and Barbtook the picture.
