November 21, 2000 - ECW lost a fan and a friend this past week with the passing of Joe C. So before I start my commentary this week, I'd like to send my condolences to his family. Rest well partner, you'll be missed.
Didn't have time to write a commentary last week, so this will be a brief recap of our week in NY. Started the week at 4:30 in the morning on Friday by catching a flight from RDU to Atlanta going to NY. That time of morning is usually NAP TIME, but because of a German man (who spoke horrible English) was trying to put himself over to this Columbian woman (who's English was just as bad) there was none. The whole flight he talked, telling his life story. Once I got of the plane I felt I knew him better than I do my brother, Kevin. Once we got to Atlanta, our flight was delayed 3 hrs because of traffic control in LaGuardia. I met up with Tony Mamaluke and Swinger for the ride to Schenectady. You know it's gonna be a long ride when as soon as you get in your renta,l it backs into a parked car. Don't worry, no one saw you do it Tony. One thing I've gathered, NY will toll you to death and they use the money for things other than paving the roads (just my observation though). After "Jeff Gordon" got us to our destination, I wrestled Corino that night with Hak Victory, I mean Jack Victory causing me to lose (inside joke).
Saturday we were in Poughkeepsie where The Elite 3 (Simon, Swinger, CW) took on Joey Matthews, Christian York and everybody's babyface Tommy Dreamer with Joel Gertner as their manager (HUH?). Good match that went all over the building. I'll save the result for TV but in the end Joel got involved and well let me say, "how's your shoulder "Gutner"?"
Back to LaGuardia to where we got to the airport at 5:30 and the flight didn't take of 'til 11. Pretty easy flights, but didn't get to my house til 6 that afternoon, very LONG day.
I'm gonna switch subjects real quick before I end this and talk about my cell phone and its service. I heard that AT&T wasn't a good one to go with so I went with Sprint. Any of you that have this service, you know they suck. I bought a Samsung-3500, its silver with the earpiece that flips. I haven't had it but 6 months when the earpiece goes on it. I've been using the hands free earpiece which is becoming real annoying. I haven't even had it a year and I call the Sprint 800 replacement # to see if I can get a new phone. They inform me that type of phone has a defect "with the earpiece". So I want to know if I can get a different type of phone and maybe pay the difference or whatever. Well of course they won't let me, they can only replace it with the exact phone but that phone has a defect in it so all they would be doing was handing me a defective phone back.
Does this make any sense? They send me to my local Sprint store to see if they'll replace it with a different one. Guess what the answer on that one was...NO. So Sprint has sold me a defective phone, and now won't replace it but with another one. If anyone has run into this problem and has any suggestions, email me at EnforcerCW@aol.com .
It snowed a whole inch here in Lizard Lick yesterday. Enough snow to make a.......... footprint and they shut the town down. God I love this place!
