July 22, 2003 - luxury hotels in AntwerpWell, I would have had a commentary quicker to view but this new laptop I got somehow got a virus on it and infected damn near every file on here. So what did I have to do, wipe this system out and go get a new anti-virus program since mine was out of date. Of course it is!!! Well, it wiped out the commentary I wrote and now I got to try and remember what I wrote, lucky me. Anyway, I guess I will try and remember everything even though somethings will only come out in the book. Some details ya gotta pay for. This last tour Corino and I defended our tag title for the 1st time and had another defense at the PPV at Sumo Hall which I can only say was beyond electric. I last will talk about something I read on Steve Corinos website SteveCorino.com about people calling their selves a world champion and how the magazines look at that. I am not the smartest when it comes to history and what not but I have my opinion on this.
The very first show, Pumpkin Head (Corino, if you didnt read my last commentary) and I took on Kenamura and Kuroda. It was our very fist title defense since becoming the NWA Intercontinental Tag Champs. Even though weve tagged since winning them we dont defend them. In Japan, the belts mean something, not defended every time a match goes on or disrespected in anyway. This match was definitely in their playground with them turning it into a hardcore match but of course, it was where I am King at which is Korekeun Hall. First off, the second night in Tokyo, I, along with Corino, Charlie and Michael Shane brave Roppongi and eat up the nightlife. To say we had something to drink was an understatement. That night was a sight I will never forget in saying That dude was HOT. The hottest Philippine SHIM...thats right a SHIM but made the final payment to get the overhaul and well, Ill just leave it at that. Check in for the bus ride the next day was 8 am and we left the club and 7 am. Quick enough to get to the hotel to get our bags and enjoy the 14 hour bus ride. Thank goodness, I slept the whole way to make it a quicker ride. Well OK, so it took forever but it was still NAP TIME. Next show I took on Yokoi in a single in what some say was a screwed finish where I went over. When youre in a fight, you play to win, plain and simple. Then after getting raped by a 4,000-yen dinner and a 4,000-yen cab ride it was show 3 where Tom Howard and I fought Tanaka and his new partner Hosaka in front of the deadest crowd ever. I was on the wrong end of an elbow in that match. 4th show was a six man with Corino and The Predator against Ogawa, Fujui and Yokoi. Was on the floor for the end of and saw Steve on the end of the STO...Amazing how simple moves get over. Next show was another 6 man with my same partners against Tengu Kaizer, Takawia and Yokoi. Man I was married to him on this tour and we went up from the big knee drop from Predator. TV on show six and I wrestled one of the best 20 yr olds in the world by the name of Sasaki. About 5 minutes in I had had enough and the spine buster was his downfall. Back to Tokyo with a day off because the last day of the tour for me was the PPV at Sumo Hall. Just walking into this place was humbling to see all the sumo champions picture and flag strung throughout the hall like retired jerseys. That night was a sellout of around 10,000 people and Steve and I were defending our titles again in the guys we beat them for, Yokoi and Sato. The electricity in that place when we walked out sent chills over me and my adrenaline was through the roof. A great match and another successful defense for us. Then it was home for me with no sleep on the plane to Minneapolis or my connector through Memphis into Raleigh.
Now this upcoming week I am off to Orlando for MLW. Last show Simon and I defended our belts against Steve Williams and his surprise partner, D-Lo Brown. I have been a big mark for D-Lo and his work for a while and to step in the ring and work against him was such an honor for me as well as Simon. On the 26th I have Steve Williams in a singles match and Simon a singles against Dr. Drunkenstein Sandman. So come out to the former Zuma Beach Club to witness another great show by MLW MLW.com Also check out the new website ExtremeHorsemen.com for all the latest which should be up and running by the time you read this.
Last Im gonna make a couple quick points on how the magazines and everyone here claims the world champions but do you rarely see the true and best in the world because most magazines arent up to date on the Japanese style and happenings. Look at the tag team of Ohtani and Tanaka who I along with many say are the best tag team in the world. Not go without saying The Extreme Horsemen in Corino and I over in Japan are highly unnoticed over here as a great tag team but what else is new. Steve and I have and can adapt to any style and it aint bragging if ya can back it up. Just get some Zero One tapes and see for yourself or just buy the PWF Vast Energy video and DVD PWFWrestling.com. Watch as we take on Ohtani and Tanaka in what was match of the year for PWF but just bear in mind its not your typical Monday night match or $30 paid PPV match but its Japanese style which in most ways is better. Guess Im just biased.
Last, quickly gonna talk about Kobe Bryant. Whether hes found guilty or not his image is ruined for life and whether you believe him or not, hes a man and this aint the first time hes done this. Just the first time hes been caught. So dont feel sorry for him in anyway, because I sure dont. No one forced him to do this and maybe in some way he will pay. But lets be honest, hes a superstar so he aint gonna do no jail time. If Id done it, Id be swinging at the gallows by now. Just quit taking up TV time by showing this loser and put reruns of Sanford and Son back on.
While ya waiting for the next one
Keep ya hands high,
